Cost-effectiveness analysis of thrombectomy for acute severe ischemic stroke
This is the first part of TLV’s health technology assessment of thrombectomy which includes an economic evaluation based on the results of five randomised controlled trials. The comparative treatment option in this assessment is standard treatment with thrombolysis.
Thrombectomy is a treatment of stroke that mechanically removes blood clots in larger blood vessels in the brain with a catheter and stent retriever.
The second part of the health technology assessment will be published by summer of 2016 and include organisational and ethical aspects as well as a budget impact assessment.
